Economics curriculum

In 2014 the Centre for Global Studies launched the Skidelsky Curriculum Committee, headed by Lord Skidelsky. The Committee consisted of experienced economics lecturers and both undergraduate and postgraduate students, including those representing student curriculum reform campaign groups such as Rethinking Economics and the Post-Crash Economics Society.

The Curriculum Committee campaigned on the reform of economics teaching, including devising a model curriculum for an improved, pluralistic economics curriculum. This sample curriculum lead to a collaboration with the Institute for New Economic Thinking to devise a Massively Open Online Course (MOOC). Two lecture series were created, one by Lord Skidelsky and the other by Prof. Ha Joon Chang, which were filmed by INET and will be made available online.
