About

The Centre for Global Studies is an independent think tank with a focus on political economy.

We work with economists, philosophers and other thinkers and writers to publish new thinking about economics. We collaborate with other organisations to find new ways of thinking about and doing economics, and in particular we aim to improve the way economics is taught, both in universities and to the public.

The CGS was founded in 1996 as an autonomous body inside the Social Market Foundation and then called the Centre for Post-Collectivist Studies. In 2002, the CGS became fully autonomous and was renamed the Centre for Global Studies.
